I used this document to help my driver understand how to read and follow the lineup board during single file lineups. On a piece of paper I would write a lineup like he would see on the track and ask him to show me where each car should lineup. I also used this opportunity to discuss how the flagger would direct him to change positions and the proper way to pass other cars to change positions during the lineup. Example: if the flagger has instructed a car to move ahead of him he should move up out of the racing groove to allow the other car to make the pass underneath him.
